We take child protection seriously, as each child is precious and loved by our Heavenly Father. We believe that our role is to prioritize the safety and dignity of the children enrolled in the program and their families. 

 

The good of the children will always be the priority of Love Lempira, and as such, we respect the role of parents and guardians as the primary caretakers of the children. 

 

In the interest of the sponsored children, we do not permit sponsors to drop a currently sponsored child in order to pick up a newly registered child. Doing so may cause you to lose the privilege of sponsoring with Love Lempira. Fake sponsorship accounts are not tolerated, and will cause you to lose the right to sponsor with Love Lempira. Each sponsored child is linked to just one sponsorship account, and only letters from the designated account holder will be forwarded. If you exceed three months of non-payments, we retain the right to cancel your sponsorships. We reserve the right to prohibit sponsorships for any reason deemed necessary for the well-being of our beneficiaries, their families, and sponsors. Harassing behavior towards staff or fellow sponsors will be considered reason for immediate termination of all sponsorship.

 

For the protection of both children and sponsors, all communication will be done via Love Lempira. Sponsors are not to share personal contact information, and this will be removed from all communication. Additionally, we reserve the right to edit or choose to not forward letters discussing topics not in accordance with the Love Lempira core values. Please do not contact your child via social media, even if he or she has an account. If you are contacted by your child, or his or her family, via social media, please do not respond. You can notify Love Lempira and we will speak to the child. Sponsored children and their families are prohibited from direct communication with their sponsors while enrolled in the Manna Discipleship Program, for the safety of the children and sponsors. Depending on the circumstances, sponsors who contact their sponsored children outside of the parameters of the program may lose the opportunity to continue working with the program.

 

All visits with sponsored children will be scheduled through Love Lempira. Sponsors will be required to submit an application, and Love Lempira reserves the right to deny a visit request that is not in the best interest of the child. When you are visiting your child, please respect the culture and engage with your child in age-appropriate ways. Your behavior should be respectful to both your sponsored child and his or her family members. A Love Lempira or Manna Discipleship Program staff member must be present at all visits, and you should not take your child alone to a private location. Do not give cash to your sponsored child or his or her family, and never give your personal contact information. All visits with program-enrolled children must be with approval from Love Lempira with staff present or your sponsorship will be terminated.
