What is child sponsorship?

Child sponsorship costs $20 a month and provides your sponsored child with nutritious meals, age-appropriate Sunday school lessons, educational support, activities and celebrations through the child’s local church, and medical and dental care as needed.

How long does the sponsorship last?

The child may be enrolled in the sponsorship program as long as he or she is attending the discipleship events at his or her church and enrolled in the local school. Some children are behind in school and may take up to age 20 to complete 12th grade. Please keep in mind that many families consider 6th grade education to be sufficient, and a 9th grade graduation as a huge success. Children with exceptional needs may receive special consideration.

How can I communicate with my sponsored child?

Manna collects letters every-other month. In your sponsorship account, visit the Sponsorship Information page for the letter writing schedule. This page also contains the email address and address for physical mailings.

How often will I receive updates from my sponsored child?

Your child will write at least 2 times per year. You will receive annual updates via the website  with your child’s photo, updated sizes and preferences. You may receive other photos during the year, but these are not guaranteed as children are sometimes sick when Manna events or letter distributions happen. You can find these extra photos on our Facebook pages.

Can I send my sponsored child gifts?

Once a year Manna collects backpacks and at this time you may send your child a personalized gift that fits inside a backpack or 2-gallon sized bag. Your child will also receive a small gift at the annual Christmas celebration, purchased via your sponsorship donation or through the annual Christmas gift fund.

How are sponsorship donations used?

One of our core values is to ensure that all programs will be operated with Christ-honoring financial accountability and transparency, providing churches, pastors, sponsors, and donors with operating budgets and breakdowns of program expenses.

As we start out on our own, we want to ensure that at least 80% of each sponsorship donation goes directly towards child benefits.

We will be using the funds we start receiving this year to meet critical needs, like backpacks, shoes, food, and existing scholarships—and start building up to implementing the complete budget!
